Rug Description

An antique Kazak rug, South Caucasus! The rust field with checkered floral octagons, hooked and floral motifs around three ice-blue and blue hooked and stepped medallions with animals and hooked motifs enclosing radiating angular centrepiece. In rust checkered lozenges and serrate leaf border between floral meander and barber-pole stripes.Good type and nicely drawn bold design and very good colour combination. Apart of touches of slight wear to the top pile this this rug has good pile, soft wool quality and is in very good usable condition. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. Popular type and elegant piece.
