Rug Description

A fine antique Bijar carpet, North-West Persia
Size, approx: 383cm. x 279cm.
The shaded brick-red field with overall Gulfsrang design of diagonal rows of bold multicoloured open rose bouquets. In abrashed light blue border of stylised turtle-palmettes and angular floral vine between palmette and leafy vine wide stripes. Outer floral, reciprocal and barber-pile stripes.
Very good type, with great overall design and very good colour combination. This carpet has full pile, soft and lustrous wool quality. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, this carpet is in very good condition throughout. Elegant and great furnishing piece. Attractive.
