Rug Description
Stylized Motif Caucasian Seychour (Zeikhur) Dark field Rug, 1900-1920. An antique Caucasian Seychour (Zeikhur) carpet on a dark blue background with a “St. Andrew’s cross” motif. The field of this antique Seychour (Zeikhur) carpet, crossed by delicate abrash, is very rich and elegantly combined chromatically. The ” “cross of St. Andrew” tend to be more geometric than their older ancestors, resembling robust “wrenches”, for many enthusiasts and scholars. The middle area of this antique Caucasian Seychour rug (Zeikhur), is embellished with a double cruciform motif, connecting the sections of the others in a delicate and warm alternation of colors. The succession of borders enhances the contrasts between pink, red, blue, white and petrol- green enlightening with graceful the background in this antique Caucasian Seychour carpet (Zeikhur). Excellent condition, ready to embellish and characterize any environment.
