Rug Description

Antique Oushak rug Turkish, circa 1910-1920: decorative elegance and chromatic harmony. A rare and luminous example of Oushak craftsmanship, hand-knotted in Western Anatolia during the early 20th century. This rug perfectly embodies the “pastel” aesthetic that made Uşak productions famous in European palaces and prestigious American estates. The design features large-scale stylized floral motifs and palmettes floating across an open field, creating a sense of space, airiness, and refined understatement.

The wool quality is extraordinary, typical of the region: local long-staple wool, particularly soft and lustrous, providing the pile with a silky texture and a velvety handle. The chromatic palette, exceptionally balanced and modern, is centered on a golden beige and cream base, enriched by delicate shades of apricot, sage green, and raw umber. This “tone-on-tone” color combination makes the rug extremely versatile, capable of integrating seamlessly into diverse interior design contexts. The wide, airy main border harmoniously complements the development of the central field.
