Yellowish Decorative Antique Chinese Peking Rugs, 1880 ca. A rare pair of Chinese carpets on a bright yellow background and “electric” blue border with a landscape style design. Chinese carpets have a very long history and an incredible variety of decorative motifs, both of a spiritual and purely traditional nature, giving great importance also to the rhythm of life and the seasons and in particular spring. In this pair of antique Chinese carpets, spring is celebrated, the blossoming of flowers and life. The flowering twigs that cross the field and border in a refined alternation of contrasts where each element is enhanced by the one next to it are very well executed. Very unlikely to find a pair of small Chinese rugs in excellent condition like these. The extraordinary nature of these two small antique Pekino carpets is their natural predisposition to be placed in any furnishing style, always guaranteeing an original and unique effect.
