Rug Description

Antique Persian Bijar (Bidjar) Carpet, ca 1900. Very elegant antique Persian Bijar carpet (Bidjar) on a salmon pink background. The design develops across the entire field with a “mina khani” motif (floral motif stylized to represent a “Persian” garden) dominated by rosettes and stylized “star” motifs, up to the perimeter borders. The decoration develops harmoniously over the entire surface on warm and patinated tones from the inexorable passage of time which in this case, gives further charm and charm to this antique Persian carpet made in the Bijar area. The color palette ranges from shades of brown, sage and pistachio greens to warm and saturated coral reds in a very intricate but well-modulated and proportioned design. The main border on a midnight blue background with stylized polychrome Herati motifs are interspersed with cartouches with an ivory profile on a red background. A fine combination of shapes and colors for this extraordinary antique Bijar carpet in excellent condition, ready to be placed in front of sofas, or hosting a dining table. It favors wooden surfaces and can coexist with any type of furniture.
