Antique Persian Heriz Rug, ca 1920.A rare medium format carpet with a classic decorative structure: a central medallion with pendants and counter border at the corners. Despite its small size compared to Heriz carpets made in the same period, we can appreciate the finesse of the richly decorated design and embellished by the multiple filling motifs used. On a coral red shade of the background, stands an imposing central midnight blue medallion, within which the pink tones delicately stand out in the central portion, in which a multicolored rosette is embraced by a cruciform motif in sky blue. The blue counter-edges accompany the gaze towards the background, enjoying all the contrasts masterfully combined. The midnight blue border contains a modular herati motif alternating with a tortoise motif, gracefully setting the background of this unusual antique Persian carpet from Heriz. This Persian Heriz from the early 20th century is professionally washed and is in excellent condition. Its dimensions allow easy collation in any living context.
