Rug Description
This is a border fragment of a Lahore Carpet that was woven in Norther India circa 1900. The design of this rug is from early Safavid carpets from 16th century Persia. The design is a combination of Shah Abbas palmettes that originate from Persia and the cloud bands motifs originating from China. The large scale motifs create a powerful visual impact on the viewer making it an extremely attractive and the perfect rug to use in any hallway. This runner has been woven on a cotton foundation with 100% wool pile and is in full pile condition.
