Rug Description
This is an antique Akstafa rug woven in the southern part of the Caucasus mountains during the end of the 19th century. It is a prayer rug with geometric motifs within an allover lattice design and at the top of the rug is a Mehrab. This rug is described as a prayer rug because of its use of a Mehrab at the top of the rug and its size. The border is designed with repeating polychrome geometric motifs. The rug is in perfect full pile condition and is ready to be added to any collection.
