An antique Sarouk carpet, West Persia
Size, approx: 430cm. x 260cm.
The abrashed light rust-apricot field with overall design of stylised multicoloured flowering vases, angular floral sprays, serrated palmettes, floral and leafy vine. In an indigo border of bold polychrome palmettes, floral and leafy vine between light beige floral meander, light blue linked chain and plain stripes. Beautifully design carpet with well balanced colours. Bold appearance. This piece has touches of slight west to the top pile, barley visible l, otherwise this carpet has good pile, soft wool quality. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, very good usable condition throughout. Great furnishing piece. Attractive.
