This is an 18th-century imperial silk Chinese textile that measures 79 x 47CM in size. This rare example has been preserved in excellent condition and has retained its dramatic saturated colors which create a dramatic color contrast with the brown background color against the lightly colored cloud motifs towards the bottom of the piece. The five-clawed dragon motif centered at the top of the textile has been woven with such accurate precision that it creates a sense of movement. The dragon is flanked by many traditional Chinese motifs such as cloud bands, bats, and blossoming flowers. This piece has been professionally cleaned and is ready to be added two any textile collection or added to any wall to add a dramatic visual effect.
