Textile Description
This is a rare antique Ottoman textile woven in Turkey during the 19th century that measures 118 x 55CM in size. Its design revolves around its floral center medallion set on a beige background color and surrounded by star motifs spread throughout the field. The border is designed with repeating shrub motifs which are interconnected with blossoming flowers and sickle leaves. a unique feature of this textile is that its border is not separated from the field but is a continuation of the field to create one complete design. This textile has been preserved in excellent condition and is backed for display and preservation purposes.
At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured. Upon request, we can provide a complete condition report (including any retouch performed by our restoration team), if it is not already presented down below.
