Textile Description
This is antique silk and metal threaded Chinese textile was woven during the 18th century and measures 140 x 80CM in size. Its design revolves around the center medallion that is created with a centralized circular floral motif surrounded by blossoming flowers set on a beige background color. The field is decorated with a spiraling vine design accompanied by blossoming flowers and traditional Chinese motifs all directed towards the center of this textile. The borders design follows the theme of the field with the spiraling vine design with large-scale palmettes. This piece has been framed for preservation purposes and display purposes.
At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured. Upon request, we can provide a complete condition report (including any retouch performed by our restoration team), if it is not already presented down below.
