Description
This is an extra-large antique Indian Kashmir textile woven during the end of the 19th-century circle 1900 and measures 310 x 162CM in size. This piece highly utilizes the famous Paisley motif which can be found in an extra-large size at both ends and throughout its main border. the Weaver used different styles of the Paisley motif including back-to-back paisleys, oversized paisleys, blossoming paisleys, and the more rare and unique straight upright paisleys. It also has an open field with a red background color which creates a dramatic visual effect drawing the viewer’s eyes towards the extra-large ends of the piece. it has been preserved in nearly perfect condition making it extremely rare and desirable by collectors because many similar examples have been damaged or torn due to being extremely delicate.
