Textile Description
This is an antique Indian cashmere shawl woven during the 19th century which measures 195 x 180CM in size. This textile has a unique design that incorporates a large number of Paisley motifs all centered towards the center of the peace where there are four paisleys set on an open field background color which create an “X” shape. culture is giving up the main border of this piece is compartmentalized into five sections featuring alternating paisley and blossoming tree motifs. This piece has an extremely fine weave and has been retained in overall good condition which adds to its rarity and collectability.
At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured. Upon request, we can provide a complete condition report (including any retouch performed by our restoration team), if it is not already presented down below.
