Rug Description

This is a semi-antique Oushak rug from Istanbul, Turkey and it was woven circa the 1950s. This rug has a unique oval shape and a center medallion design. The royal blue-colored center medallion creates dramatic color contrasts against the beige-colored field. This rug makes use of only six natural vegetable dyes, but the color combination and design element create a dramatic visual impact and attractiveness that many other rugs don’t possess.
