Rug Description

An antique Mahal carpet, West Persia

The brick-red field with overall design of various polychrome palmettes, floral sprays, floral and leafy vine. In an indigo border of similar design between floral and plain stripes.

Good type and well drawn design, nicely balanced colours. This carpet has good pile, soft wool quality. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this carpet is in very good usable condition. Elegant and very good furnishing piece.
