A fine, signed antique Kirman carpet, South Persia
Size, approx: 460cm. x 333cm.
The shaded soft raspberry-red field with overall design of various multicoloured, meandering rosette vine, leafy tendrils and stylised flowering vases. In and indigo border of polychrome palettes and arabesques between multiple flowering vine, arabesques and plains stripes. Very nice example for this type with great overall design and very good colour combination. This carpet has full pile, soft and lustrous wool quality.
Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this carpet is one very good condition throughout. Elegant and very good furnishing piece. Attractive. Signature cartouche at one end.
