Antique Persian Heriz Silk Rug 1880-1900.

Carpets with a light background in delicate designs and colors are less produced than other carpets with stronger contrasts and very defined designs. Light-colored carpets require mastery and a perception of tones and colors that only a few skilled weavers of the past were able to achieve as excellent as in this silk Heriz from the late 19th century. Although the decorative structure is with medallion, the initial visual effect is that of an all-over decorated carpet. The small floral sprays and knotted motifs offer lightness and elegance to the entire decorative composition.
