Rug Description

An antique Tekke Chuval rug, Turkmenistan
The soft red field with horizontal row of large hooked and linked lozenges containing double hooked lozenge panels. All divided by stylised angular plant shaped panes at each end. In hooked motif lozenge and hooked bars border between small panel and X-motif stripes. Kotchak stripe and short kilim at one end. Very good type and nice example from tribal weaving. This rug has very good pile and good colour combination. Ends and selvages original. In general, this piece is in very good condition. Attractive.
