Antique Oushak rug, 19th century: an exceptional chromatic contrast between Anatolian elegance and graphic vigor. A rare and monumental example of Oushak craftsmanship, hand-knotted in Western Anatolia during the 19th century. Unlike more common “tone-on-tone” pieces, this rug stands out for its extraordinary visual impact: across an open field of warm, luminous tones, majestic Harshang-style palmettes emerge, defined by a deep and charismatic midnight blue. This sophisticated motif creates a geometric dynamism that elevates the rug from a decorative element to a true masterpiece of textile art.

The wool quality is superb: local long-staple wool, renowned for its natural luster, which allows the indigo blue of the patterns to achieve an almost velvety depth. The chromatic palette is masterfully balanced: the apricot and raw umber field serves as a stage for the midnight blue of the palmettes and the main border. The latter, richly decorated with sinuous patterns, mirrors the vigor of the central field. The result is a noble contrast, capable of bringing character and depth to any interior.
