Rug Description
This is an antique pecking Chinese rug woven in during the beginning of the 20th century circa 1920s. it has an all-over field design comprised of blossoming tree branches with four bird motifs located in each of the corners of the rug which are surrounded by a band of cloud motifs creating a circle around the bird. In the center is located a dragon motif surrounded by cloud motifs that create a circle around the dragon and as well as traditional Chinese motifs creating a circle around the clouds. The main border is made up of Lotus flower motifs interconnected with a vine design set on a blue background color. this rug has overall a dramatic color contrast given its Peach but field background color along with the all-over motifs mostly being in yellow and the border being a blue color gives this rug a dramatic visual impact. This rug is in overall good condition with some areas of wear consistent with its age.
