Rug Description
This is a silk souf Ningxia rug woven during the end of the 19th century. It is made of 100% silk pile and the background of the carpet is made using a flat weave technique with metal threads. The design of the rug is a central dragon with five claws flanked by a total of four other dragons above and below it. The field and major border makes use of classic Chinese motifs that bring the meaning and store of this rug alive. Its condition is prime with full pile and no repairs. The condition, design, and rarity of silk souf Ningxia rug makes this a perfect rug for any home or to be added to any serious collection.
