Rug Description
Antique Caucasian Shirvan Rug, 1900-1920. A charming antique Caucasian Shirvan carpet of small format with all over design. The peculiarity of this antique Caucasian Shirvan carpet is the succession of color nuances that cross the entire surface with very delicate contrasts. The background of this antique Shirvan carpet is dominated by small cruciform motifs with a stepped profile in midnight blue, and others in ivory profiles with a light background, in alternating tones. The border, on an ivory background, of this antique Caucasian Shirvan carpet is decorated with star motifs. Medacyl on external borders are also alternately with “abrash” on the whole carpet. Note on the back, a numerical code preceded by a letter; probably from the previous inventory of the famous merchant, Perez, known for his characteristic way of classifying carpets between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The state of conservation of this carpet is very good. The dimensions allow easy placement in any environment.

So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured.
