An antique Saruk Farahan rug, west Persia
The ivory field with very nicely drawn overall multicoloured large herati design. In broad soft dusty-pink border of polychrome palmettes, shaped panels and angular flowering vine between indigo floral meander and outer plain stripe. Very good example for this type with well balanced colours. This rug has slight wear to the top pile otherwise very good usable condition throughout. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. Good type sought after on the market. Attractive and very good furnishing piece.
