Rug Description
An antique Kurk Kashan carpet, Central Persia
Size, approx: 404cm. x 310cm.
The abrashed rust-red field with various multicoloured palmettes, floral and leafy sprays around indigo and ivory double floral medallion with stylised pendants containing light-blue floral centrepiece. Arabesque and floral spandrels. In an indigo border of bold polychrome palmettes and flowering vine between triple floral meander stripes. Outer plain stripe. Classic for this type with very nicely drawn design and well balanced colours. This carpet has full pile, soft and lustrous kurk wool. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes secured. Im general this carpet is in very good condition throughout.
