Rug Description

An antique Heriz carpet, North-West Persia.
Size. approx: 474cm. x 328cm.
The soft rust field with angular flowering vine and large hooked leaves around indigo cusped medallion with pendants containing similar design. Ivory spandrels similar. In an indigo border of stylised turtle-palmette and hooked leave vine between floral meander stripes. Beautifully drawn design, with unusual shape central medallion. Very good colour combination. This carpet has very good pile, soft wool quality. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured.
In general this carpet is in very good condition. Superb furnishing piece. Very attractive.
