Kashan Manchester, premier Persian manufacture, early 20th century: an icon of class and silky luster. A stunning example of a “Manchester” Kashan, hand-knotted with the prized merino wool that made this production famous for its velvety feel and extraordinary light-reflecting qualities. This rug embodies classic Persian elegance, featuring a sophisticated “dugh” rose background, a sought-after tone that evokes the grace of the finest contemporary Sarouk artifacts. At the heart of the field lies a richly detailed central medallion, a triumph of arabesques and floral motifs that expand with millimetric precision toward the corners, creating perfect compositional balance.

Of particular artistic merit is the main border on a midnight-blue ground: this deep, dark frame acts as a jewel box, highlighting the luminosity of the rosy field by contrast.
