Rug Description

Antique Persian Bidjar Garrus Rug, 19th Century. In this rare antique Persian carpet from Bijar, we can appreciate the decoration that is decidedly characteristic of this production area: the “garrus” design, that is, the representation of the celestial garden supported by an arabesque vine branch. The background, on a midnight blue background, develops in a modular manner creating an enchanting visual effect, giving a clear contrast between the decorations but at the same time delicate due to the wise choice of colors used. In this Persian Bijar carpet, we can admire the combination of the most typically tribal elements in the borders with a stylized Herati motif, recalling the stylization of the borders of carpets knotted in the areas of Heriz and Azerbaijan. The dimensions of this antique Persian Bijar carpet are typical of Kelleh productions, the length of which is generally double the width. In excellent condition, it can embellish any environment by giving light and color to your rooms.
