Rug Description

This is an antique felt Tibetan rug handcrafted during the 18th century and measures 154 x 89 CM in size. This is an extremely rare piece that has been mounted on a black backing to preserve it. Its design revolves around a center floral motif with protruding blossoming branches and a crane in mid-flight all set on an orangey-red background color. The border has a highly geometric design known as a Greek key and is highly used within Chinese and Tibetan Rugs and textiles. This piece has been preserved in excellent condition with a few minor holes which are consistent with its age.
