Rug Description
Tibetan rug
Very good saddle cover example from Tibet. Two camel-brown panels with pair of Imperial Dragons chasing flaming pearl together with occasional cloud-band. Unusual and sea-wave and cloud-band motif skirt at each end. In narrow key-pattern border. Outer plain stripe. Each panel has two specially made and secured holes for sadle mounting. This piece has good pile, soft wool quality. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes secured. In general, this saddle cover is in very good usable condition. At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured. Upon request, we can provide a complete condition report (including any retouch performed by our restoration team), if it is not already presented down below.
