Rug Description
Antique Caucasian Shirvan Rug ca. 1920. An antique Caucasian Shirvan carpet, truly interesting and unusual. The midnight blue background of this Shirvan carpet is dominated by an important medallion, on a light blue background, with an oblong and scalar profile in red, culminating in the toothed palmette motifs or eagle motifs with spread wings, representing the “fire” or “firebird” in the Zoorastrian cult. These reasons are always in red. The center of the inner medallion, octagonal in shape, is decorated with rosettes, Azeri-style birds and small filling motifs. The exchange and alternation of colors and decorative motifs are perfectly balanced, offering a pleasant overall visual effect. The main border in Kochak or double “T” style is very brillant, illuminating the main scene of the carpet with rigor and elegance. The state of conservation of this antique Caucasian Shirvan carpet is excellent, ready to characterize and embellish your environment.

So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured.
