An antique Turkish rug Melas
The soft rust field with angular rosette tendrils. Ivory mihrab above with polychrome serrated leaves and hooked bars. In broad golden-yellow border of aubergine and pistachio-green serrated palmettes together with angular floral and leafy vine between ivory rosette and barber-pole stripes.
Classic for this type with very well drawn prayer design. Very good colour combination. This rug has slight wear to the top, pile barely visible. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, this rug is in very good usable condition. Sought after type on the market. Attractive and elegant piece.
