Rug Description
An antique Haji-Jalili Tabriz silk rug, north-west Persia
The pale beige field with angular floral and leafy sprays around stylised large floral medallion with open rosette centrepiece. Similar half panels at each end. In open bold rosette and leafy motif border between angular flowering vine and plain stripes. Seldom found type in the market woven in silk. Pale colour scheme. Selvages secured. Ends with short fringes also secured.
This rug good pile, soft and fine silk quality, woven on silk foundation. In general, this rug is in very good usable condition. Attractive and sought after type.
