Rug Description

An antique Heriz carpet, North-West Persia
Size, approx: 451cm. x 352.
The rust-red field with various angular floral motifs around large hooked and stepped medallion with bold palmette cartouches enclosing large hooked panel centrepiece.
Ivory floral spandrels. In an indigo border of polychrome hooked palmettes and hooked leaves between sandy-beige floral mender strips. Classy for this type with well drawn design and very good colour combination. This carpet has very good pile. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this carpet is in very good condition. Popular type on the market. Great furnishing piece.
