Rug Description

This is an antique Mahal rogue woven in central Persia during the beginning of the 20th century circa 1900 add measures 515 x 168CM in size. This piece has a Mustafi design set on a midnight blue background color that takes its inspiration from European influences and was originally woven for the western market. The border has a traditional geometric Persian floral motif design set on a red background color. This piece has a unique size which could indicate that it was specially woven to fit in a large corridor. despite its being used in a high traffic area it has been preserved in excellent condition retaining most of its full pile and is ready to be enjoyed for many more years to come.
