Rug Description

Antique Persian Heriz Rug, ca 1890. A very rare antique Heriz carpet in medium size, pardè. Antique carpets from the Heriz area are generally quite large in size, from 6 square meters upwards. In this Heriz carpet from the end of the 19th century, we can appreciate a more classical decorative style, where the lines and profiles of the designs are less angular and decidedly more rounded. On a blue background, there is an oblong coral red central medallion decorated with large floral decorations. The corners on an ivory background are decorated leaving the design suspended between the empty spaces, giving further impetus to the medallion and the floral decorations that surround it. The main border bears a stylization of the herati motif, surrounded by secondary borders with rosettes and cloud bundles. Very unusual to find an antique Heriz Persian carpet of this size, easy to place in a sofa area, in a professional studio or in an area of the house to be enhanced with harmony and taste. This antique Heriz carpet is in excellent condition, ready to embellish your rooms.
