Rug Description
This is an antique Peking rug woven in eastern China during the first quarter of the 20th century circa 1900 – 1920s. The field is designed with five blossoming tree branches strategically placed in each of the corners of the rug and one in the center. The background of the field is made up of repeating geometric motifs all interconnected with each other set on an ivory background color. The border is comprised of repeating geometric motifs Set on a dark blue background color. the border and the background of the fields give the carpet an overall highly geometric design and feel while the five floral motifs create a balance within the geometric drawing. This rug is in full pile-perfect condition and has been professionally washed.
