Description

A very fine antique silk Feraghan prayer rug, West Persia The soft sandy -yellow field with stylised floral tree flanked by flowering vase at each side. Pale raspberry-red mihrab above with palmette and leafy vine. In abrashed ice-blue and pale green border of bold palmettes and serrated angular leafy vine between triple floral meander stripes.

Beautiful example for this type, seldom found in the market. Good colour combination and well drawn design. Apart of tiny wear on few very small places, barely visible, this rug? has good pile, soft and lustrous silk. Ends with short fringes, secured. Selvages rebound very well done.

In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Attractive and elegant piece.
