Rug Description

This is an antique French Savannah rug woven during the end of the 19th century and its place size measures 563 x 430 CM in size. It has a classical royal design that incorporates many musical instruments, flower motifs, and architectural designs from 19th century France. This carpet incorporates many different colors and a variety of hues for each color to create dramatic visual color contrast and impact on the viewer. Normally these textiles would have been woven as a kilim more a tapestry but in this unique example, it has been woven like a rug distinguishing itself among its peers. 1617 the rug is in near perfect condition retaining its full pile and has been professionally washed.

At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured.
