Rug Description

This striking Rya rug Scandinavian, measuring 197 × 140 cm, is a superb example of mid-20th century Nordic textile design. Woven with a thick, high-pile wool texture, this piece exemplifies the classic Rya weaving technique, originally developed in Sweden and Finland to serve both decorative and practical purposes. The composition features a bold and energetic geometric sunburst pattern: concentric circular medallions enclosed within diamond-shaped formations, set against a vivid golden-orange field with contrasting dark brown angular outlines. The interplay between the warm tones and deep contours creates a striking sense of depth and motion, giving the rug a distinctly modernist and dynamic appeal.
