Rug Description

This is an antique Turkish Izmir carpet woven during the first quarter of the 20th century circa 1920s and measures 440 x 370 CM in size. It has an all-over design with different large-scale floral motifs drawn geometrically and spread throughout the ivory background colored rug. The border is composed of large-scale palmettes interconnected with vine design set on a gray background color which creates color contrast against the light-colored field. This rug is in overall good condition with a few areas of wear that are consistent with its age. It has been professionally cleaned and is ready to be used in any setting modern or classical.
