Rug Description
An antique rug of Transylvanian tripe much design, Turkey
The shaded blue field divided by stylised vertical slim columns. Pale aqua-green angular floral motifs mihrab above with two cross panels with floral sprays and prayer arches. In rust-red border of polychrome hooked bars and angular hooked leaf vine between floral, zig-zag and plain stripes.
Very good design and very nicely balanced colours and design is beautifully drawn. This rug has localized wear to the pile down to k ot collar and below showing dot like wear. Flat selvages secured. Ends with short fringes.
Despite imperfections this rug is in good usable condition. Attractive and very good type.
