Rug Description

Antique Chinese Peking Rug, 1880 ca. A Chinese Beijing carpet with an oval shape, little used in the creation of carpets of any origin. The warm tones and tone-on-tone decorations embellish this rug throughout its surface. The main border is very interesting and alternates colors from ivory to pale yellow to the typical “Beijing blue”. The background carries very delicate motifs in which bamboo leaf motifs can be glimpsed framing a peacock with a tail in shades of blue.
