Rug Description

Antique Caucasian Shirvan rug. 1900-1920. A delightful antique Shirvan carpet from the early 20th century on a melange red background. The background of this antique Shirvan carpet is dominated by three medallions with a star motif arranged vertically culminating in stylized pendants, almost forming a small niche. On this carpet, there are abrash, variations of color and shades, covering in blue part of a medallion and the field that surrounds it, also the lateral and underlying border. The Laleh Abbasi medacyl style border is very well distributed. On the background and on the counter-edges, we can appreciate rosette motifs interpreted in multiple styles, boteh and two small “hooked diamond” medallions. The state of conservation of this antique Shirvan carpet is excellent, carefully kept and ready to embellish your environment.


At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured.
