Rug Description
Semi Antique Caucasian Kuba Rug. 1950-1970. A semi-antique Caucasian Kuba (Quba) carpet with a midnight blue background and two medallions on a red background. The pattern of this semi-antique Kuba carpet is very defined and clear. On the midnight blue field, the two red octagonal medallions, with a “hook” profile, are further decorated with eagle claw motifs, surrounded by rosette filling motifs, small “S” motifs. Small medallions with internal rosette motifs, typical of ancient Caucasian carpets, with an ash blue colour completes the rest of the field. The borders with carnation motifs in alternating arrangements before the field are very rich; another border with a carnation motif, made in another style and with larger proportions, precedes the central one on an ivory background, with a star motif set between two borders bearing the “medacyl” motif. The state of conservation of this semi-antique Kuba (Quba) carpet is excellent; the dimensions allow easy positioning with any type of flooring or furniture.

So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured. Upon request, we can provide a complete condition report (including any retouch performed by our restoration team), if it is not already presented down below.
