Rug Description
The charcoal-black field with various polychrome hooked octagons and panels, together with stylised trees and animal figures around three ivory hooked octagons, large birds. Inner yellow and rust panelled stellar octagons and hooked bars frame. In an ivory hooked S-motif border between reciprocal and barber-pole stripes.
Very nicely drawn design and very good colour combination. A part of slight localised wear to the top pile, otherwise this rug has good pile and in general is in very good usable condition. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. Very attractive and elegant piece.
At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured.
