Rug Description

The indigo field with stylised overall large herati design. Brick-red spandrels similar. In and indigo border of bold palmettems and panels together with floral vine between ivory rosette and leafy vine, ribbon and plain stripes.

Classic for this type with unusual large Herat design. Colours are well blended with a brash at one end. Common with hand woven rugs and carpets when different batch of wool due was used showing colour difference over the years. This rug has good pile and is in very good usable condition throughout. Ends with short fringes, secured Selvages rebound. Well done. Very good furnishing piece.
