An antique Saruk Farahan rug, west Persia
The soft light rug at field with delicate angular palmette and lafy vine around indigo and rust double floral lozenge medallion with pendants containing bold arabesque centrepiece. Shaded light beige and indigo floral spandrels. In an indigo border of polychrome palmettes and angular floral sprays between floral meander and plain stripes. Very good type with elegant design and very good colour combination. This rug has very good pile, soft and lustrous wool quality. Selvages rebound, very well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, this rug is in very good condition throughout. Attractive and very good furnishing piece.
