Rug Description
This is a Tudeshk rug woven in central Persia circa 1950. It has an allover design that is made up of a variant of the herati design, but the design has been exemplified with large palmettes and cloud band motifs. The border is made up of palmettes and floral motifs all connected by a vine design. Tudeshk rugs are finer and older productions from the Nain area before large workshops were created in the town of Nian. This rug has been woven on a cotton foundation and has a mix of wool and silk pile.
